Episode 156

Adjusting Our Capacity for Family, Work, and Self-Care

Published on: 12th April, 2020

How are you holding up out there, parents? Laura and I have been chatting lately about how our parenting has been affected by everything going on with COVID-19, our reshuffled work routines, and our increased family time at home. As parents we are facing some big challenges, but I know that we are capable of meeting them. It takes some creativity and some self-compassion, but we are absolutely capable of moving through this time with our families.

In this episode Laura and I are discussing how our capacity has changed as the world around us has shifted. We talk about the ways we’re asking our families to band together, why women can’t shoulder the burden of work and family by themselves, and what roles we are letting go of as parents.

We also chat about how to release the pressure and how to continue to carve out little pockets of time for yourself. And we discuss letting our kids process their emotions about everything going on, too.

You’re doing great, parents - we see you, we hear you, and we feel you! <3

About the Podcast

Women in the Business Arena™
There is no one right way to do business, there is just a right way for YOU! And many women in business are DONE with hustle, bro-marketing culture, and business tactics that are misaligned with their values.

Instead, more women are looking to build a business that honors their passion, gifts & wisdom.

If you are ready for a DIFFERENT way to operate your business - one that brings ease, challenges the patriarchal status quo, and helps you make a difference in the world (with both your business & your bank account), then this podcast is for you!

Sonya Stattmann uses her 21 years of experience working with thousands of women in business to facilitate honest, educational & inspiring conversations with other women leaders, business owners, and experts.

She also has regular conversations with our resident mental health expert, Laura-Shook Guzman, to tackle mindset, thinking, and the patterns that sabotage women’s path to business success.

This is a DIFFERENT kind of business podcast!
