About the Podcast

Women in the Business Arena
The conversations women in business and leadership need to have about power, agency, and success.
You can be successful, capable, and respected, and still find yourself wondering why being a woman in the business arena has cost so much in adaptation, energy, and compromise.

Why you work so hard to be taken seriously. Why you second-guess yourself even when you know what you’re doing. Why so much of the labour you carry goes unseen. Why success can still leave you exhausted, disconnected or questioning what you actually want.

Women in the Business Arena is the conversation women in business and leadership need to have about power, agency and success.

Hosted by Sonya Stattmann and Laura Shook-Guzman, two women who have spent decades working in the business world and supporting women through pressure, change and challenge.

Together, they explore the systems that shape us, the beliefs and behaviours we carry as a result of the adaptations we make, and what becomes possible when we reclaim more agency in how we work, lead and live.

Season One, The Evolution, marks the return of Women in the Business Arena after a five-year pause. Across twelve episodes, Sonya and Laura explore invisible labour, self-doubt, chronic pressure, performance, boundaries, desire, identity and the path back to ourselves.

New episodes weekly. Learn more at womeninthebusinessarena.com
